Yeah, Pedroza was a bit overhated. And Bernard Taylor kind of put him in his place in their draw fight.

Some names pop out easily to work Fans into a froth.

Panama Lewis and Luis Resto tag team.
      Primo Carnera
      Nikolai Valuev
      Al Haymon
      Bob Arum
      Don King
To be honest, it wasn't until I started frequenting BoxingScene.com and NSB, that I became aware of all the hate for GGG and Canelo. I never realized the camps were so divided and that fans had hate for these two.

So from that perspective, I really don't have to look much further to see overhating, cuz there's really no reason to hate on either of them. I know there are narratives out there that paint them as villains, but I'm not really sure they are the kinds of villains you're referring to.
Though you can't deny, they do receive a measure of hate...

          - -Before you came here, they were best buds sparring partners.

May still be, but fanboy hate sells, so there it is$$$!

Donny Lalonde was always a hated guy. He was a complete tool.
I myself always thought Hector Camacho was a Horses ass.
But a great fighter , Bless his soul. He just got under my skin, and by the way he still lost to Mancini after ray was off for 4 years.

              - -No way jose!

Luv to poke me some fat, and oh the ironic ignominy of getting knocked down by Butterbean in his last professional seconds as a pro...priceless!

What about Vinny Pazienza? Pretty ******, pretty hated as far as I can remember.

Naseem Hamed was not particularly liked by many segments of boxing fans.

Me, the lone fighter I really used to hate was Oscar De La Hoya. Now I almost feel pity for him.

There was a time when Andrew Golota had become the most hated/derided fighter of the universe. The press and the fans definitely ruined his psyche (which was not exactly good to begin with...).

                    - -The payoff was that Golota irrevocably ruined Big Dummy for life.

                      That's right.

Just seconds before the disqualification in the first Bowe fight, Golota had the world in the palm of his hand.

                      What a waste of talent.
