Wow, Roy Jones Jr as P4P number 1? That's a big call. But you are entitled to say that. I hope you are not incorporating accomplishments though?

...because Ray Robinson didn't accomplish much? No matter what the criteria, Ray Robinson is, or should always be, in consideration for #1.

Sorry. I realised what I said. I was supposed to say Roy Jones at number 1. My mistake. I have Robinson at number 1.

What was the point of this? No one ever said he was .
And Roy Jones JR is #1.

This is a list of the order in which fighters have been named p4p at in boxing mags and by fans ect, it is not a list of who I think was better .

Oscar took over during Roy's last years as a super middleweight
He was fighting lesser compatition and Oscar was fighting Whitaker ect.

Trinidad held it for a short time in some boxing mags after he beat Oscar,Reid,Vargas and Joppy.

Old thread, i remember this one. What i should have said back then was, ability and not accomplishments. I still think Roy Jones JR would have been the most succesfull going up weight classes than anyone else, and one of the most gifted fighters ever. But he did not have the greatest career when it comes to accomplishments.

Roy was at SMW for 2 years (basically late 94-late 96)

                    Oscar fought Whitaker in 97.

Was Oscar p4p #1 in ring magazine, or was he p4p #1 like PacMan today?

My point is that some of these years it was back and forth this just shows who ended up winning at the end of the year but someone else could have been the p4p champ at other times during each year.
