A little contrast there? I see Pacquiao as a technically limited fighter who was brilliant at some aspects of the game. Dealing with Locche is not an aspect I expect him to excel at. Pac will win by sheer energy, landing one out of ten punches, but will do very little damage. Locche couldn't hurt Pacquiao if his mother's life were hanging in the balance.

loche could hit he just was a defensive first fighter, like Floyd - never went to finish you off nor knew how too.

I agree Pacquiao probably wins an ugly decision in his prime. Loche doesnt do enough to win.

I have to agree with Old Left on this one.

Locche spent the vast majority of his career fighting in Argentina against middling foes. Outside of Antonio Cervantes his resume is lacking.

I don't think he is on the same elite level as Pacquiao proved himself to be.

In addition to Cervantes was in the ring with Carlos Ortiz, Ismael Laguna, Joe Brown, Eddie Perkins all enshrined into the Hall of Fame. Then there’s Sandro Lopopolo, Carlos Hernandez, L.C. Morgan, Alfredo Urbina, Joao Henrique, Adolph Pruitt, Benny Huertas and others.

Sure there’s a lot of crap opposition but to say it’s Cervantes and nothing else is wide of the mark too.

Locche always put on a high exhibition of flamboyant defense. That was his calling card and his claim to fame. That is what his highlight reel is all about after all, and nothing else. There are very few anything like him in boxing history. Of his precise type he may be #1. By God, his highlight reel will pass down. Locche has made it to humanly immortal. Will our own highlight reels pass down, by jingo, lads?

His share? Not quite. He got hit with a lot fewer than a full share. Put another way, his share was a lot smaller than other fighters' shares against the same opponents.

Most of all, I don't think He fought many southpaw fighters, right? For a fighter like him, who has very specialise, designed defensive system - that's huge adjustement.
He also was comfortable in slower pace and was mostly flat-footed.

Pacquiao's energy, angles, output and speed would be way too much imo. Dominant, wide decision probably with crafty Locche hanging in there.
Ray Arcel called him the greatest defensive fighter he’d ever seen. Arcel saw a lot of boxing and didn’t give praise like that out easily.

Locche’s defense was so impressive for how little effort it seemed to take and the audacity of it. Hands at his side, behind his back and just moving the head a few inches so instinctively. Incredible.
