Junior Jones had the skills but that chin and that stamina didn't hold up at times.

He had Barrera's number when he Barrera was at his peak.

Which is why Barrera should've been able to beat him. Kind of strange he couldn't. That DQ in the first fight seemed kind of strange. I'll have to watch that fight again to see how it happened.

What do you remember about Junior Jones?

I remember being in a hotel room and Jones v Barrera was on the tv. Jones came out to “In the air tonight” by Phil Collins, and he looked focused as hell. My brother said he would win and he did, and we loved Barrera. And Morales beating poison always felt like a Victory against MAB than Junior Jones himself.

Barrera became more of smart boxer after the Junior Jones fights. Prior to that he had been the usual seek and destroy, throw left hooks to the body with abandon, "Mexican style" fighter.
