Nothing serious obviously, but it's a fun watch if you're a fan of both men, seeing Jofre still pumping that jab non stop always makes me smile.
Oh yeah, I saw that a while ago. It was fun to see for sure. His son said his Dad had a ball at Canastota and really liked Arguello, Carlos Ortiz and Angelo Dundee and hung out with them that weekend.

What other Jofre footage do you have? I'm always interested to see if there's more out there and if there's stuff I don't have will happily pay $$.

Just whats on the channel really, used to have some other stuff but the hard drive died / lost a dvd collection and I lost it all (Why I didn't reply to you awhile ago, sorry, was bummed out and had other **** going on was well, would just browse and dissapear for a month). Used to be part of a boxing archive but had to leave, had all kinds of goodies coming in everyday, worldboxingvideoarchive.com, unfortunatly you can't become a member anymore but there's many collectors on there who often upload rare fights, it's shocking to see some of the stuff they used to upload actually.

Some big time collectors, if there's anyway you can get in contact with them to become a member I'd highly recommend it, had quite an amount of Jofre footage on there and given the time that's passed since I haven't been able to log on I'd be willing to bet they've got some more which even we haven't seen.

      Hopefully anyway.

I am a member there but haven't used in years. I have to improve my ratio before I can download. I recently got and uploaded to youtube the Legra-Famechon, Jofre-Caraballo and Medel-Pimentel fights. I upload through a friends youtube account since I've never created one. I have some other gems like Buchanan-Laguna I which I'll be posting up too.

What Jofre fights did you have? I've heard there's a 10 minute clip from the Caldwell fight but the dude wanted to charge me $800. I speak to Jofre's son and had sent him the Legra fight and that's the first time he'd seen it since the 70's so even his family has limited footage. I found a brief clip from what looks like one of the Miranda fights too.

Have you ever seen any other full fights beyond what's already out there? Anything at all from the Saldivar fight?

My dude, I had a clip of the Caldwell fight and can 100% guarantee it's on that site, may chat with them see if we can sort something out, may need to donate an amount but as I'm getting back into collecting I don't really care.

There is 100% some clippings of the Saldivar fight out there as well, very poor quality though but I have seen it.

Haven't seen any full fights that we haven't already, haven't been on the hunt for footage or paid much attention for awhile though.

Will have a gander through some dvds and see if there's any Caldwell there but no promises.

There was a guy on youtube who had some rare Jofre footage aswell but I think he had his account taken down / videos removed, unless that's you aha, it's uncommon you come around someone else that's a big fan of the man. You're name rings a bell too, unless it's from awhile ago and not what I'm thinking of / I'm getting things confused.

No chance you're paying that amount for 10 mins of the Caldwell fight, was the guy out of his mind. Brilliant that you sent the fight to his son aswell, legend.

Edit: Used to be on the hunt for some Rafael Hererra fights, don't suppose you have anything ?. Kinda back on topic aswell, another great offensive boxer from the lower weights and massively overlooked, a beast in one of the golden eras of bantams.

I have some of the Caldwell but it's mainly what was on Carabrando a Cara and O Grande Campeao. You have something longer than that you think? I just searched the site and don't see anything beyond Medel, Harada and Legra fights.

I'd heard from a Brazilian I used to communicate with from Maxboxing back around 2004 that he'd seen the Saldivar fight and it was a work of art. He said they'd periodically show his fights on Globo TV back in the 80's but once the company burned down they lost all archival footage. I bet the Mexican government has some of his stuff like the Sanchez fight, the Lopez, Gomez, Marques and full Medel re-match too but they are really weird about distributing or giving out to anyone. I've tried to do it before but they consider these filmings "national treasures" and that's that.

How did the Saldivar fight look? Yeah if you can please see what you have like I said I'm always willing to spend or trade.

The Herrera fights I'll have a look. I did recently put the Olivares re-match on youtube. That was always a little trickier to find than his others and I got it in good condition and with sound.

edit: I recently wrote a piece on him after interviewing the family. This will be going on his official website.

The Caldwell fight was a decent amount, off memory it may have been the 8th, 9th and 10th rounds but again I'd have to find it, maybe more but not less.

The Saldivar footage I seen was sketchy at best but you could tell it was Saldivar, was in 10-20 second or so clips of a few rounds, nothing major. Good to hear that there may be better stuff out there though, gives a glimmer of hope, once said on here I'd give my left nut for some good footage of the fight and I'm still willing to uphold that.

Don't worry about spending anything if I find stuff, I'm not some wanker that's gonna charge you some ridiculous amount for something that's not even mine and should be shared.

I'll give your piece a read when I can.

Thanks. Greatly appreciated. I'll always be keeping my eyes peeled. The Caraballo one isn't great footage but clear enough to see. It has four full rounds (including the KO round). Yeah, I'm like that too. I will just upload stuff rather than hog stuff to myself and not share.

I will have his movie soon and with English subtitles.

The Legra fight was from a telecast from Spain. That bout was only aired on the radios in Brazil so that leaves me a glimmer of hope that perhaps something from the Rollo fight may exist from Italian TV too.

I can send you my telephone number via PM so we could communicate via WhatsApp if you like? Have you seen Herrera-Olivares II, Legra-Famechon, Medel-Pimentel, Medel-Harada I? Here's my friends page https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCpQ...f-mCUTWY12-TRA those boxing clips are all mine. I'll be uploading Buchanan-Laguna I soon. I'd searched for that fight for about 15 years. Not great quality but good enough.

Most of the guys I thought would be mentioned already have been, but a couple names I havent seen that I think could make the list:

Hearns- Dynamite puncher and incredible build. Can keep you at bay with the jab, and put you out with the right.
Finitio- I know, not a lot of competition at his weight, but a technical punching marvel.

Do these two belong in the discussion?

Yeah for sure mate, would make it a bit easier to chat without getting in the way of threads aha.

Have yet to see the movie, fell out of love with the sport while I've had stuff going on so I've got some catching up to do.

Will definitely be checking that channel out, will need to see some clips to jog my memory but I think I've seen Herrera-Olivares II, Legra - Famechon and maybe Medel - Harada I although it may have been Medel - Harada II I'm thinking of.
