He left the HW division after that win. He was looking at Lewis, Tyson, Wlad, Holyfield...no way he stood a chance against them. Looking back at the HW division, I can't see him beating Dempsey, Tunney, Louis, Charles, Walcott, Marciano, Patterson, Liston, Ali, Frazier, Foreman, Shavers, Holmes, etc. He would suffer the same fate as Bob Foster every time he tried to step up to HW and Foster was a bigger hitter.

Good point. Never got to see him in with McClellan, Julian Jackson, Nigel Benn, Eubank, prime Calzaghe, Michalczewski, or Collins.

RJJ COULD have beaten anyone 200 and below, he is that good of a fighter. But that doesn't mean he would consistently, beat them more often than they beat him, or that I'd favor him. As we all know, sometimes the consistently better fighter doesn't always win (upsets happen) here are the guys I'd favor over RJJ at given weights:

          1 middle
SRR, Hagler, Monzon, Burley, we have no footage of Greb so I can't say; Hearns is push for me at 160.

          2 Super Middle
Nobody (I know he missed a lot of guys at SMW, but I'd favor him over all of them)

          3 Light Heavy
Langford (yeah he's from a more primitive era but he was a freaking tank) Charles, & Spinks. Moore is 50/50 for me & I give a slight nod over Foster (though its close), and Conn

          4 Cruiser
Holyfield- just more proven at that weight

          5 Heavyweight
A number of guys, the top modern Super Heavies would just be too much for him, and the top notch legends of days gone by. He just wasn't really a heavyweight

            - -Field couldn't box and also turned down Roy to fight TwoTonToney, and how'd that work out for him?

Roy never lost to Ruiz like Field did. Need we beat a dead horse further?

Why are you listing ATGs when I only said he would beat alphabet champs?

Ok, so which alphabet champs would he beat? From 90s to today?

More detail: Here is everyone that held a significant belt between 1990 and now that I think Roy would beat:

                    Michael Bentt
                    Herbie Hide
                    Bruce Seldon
                    Oliver McCall
                    Chris Byrd
                    John Ruiz
                    Clifford Etienne
                    Hasim Rahman
                    Lamon Brewster
                    Nikolai Valuev
                    Siarhei Liakhovich
                    Oleg Maskayev
                    Sultan Ibragimov
                    Ruslan Chagaev
                    Samuel Peter
                    David Haye
                    Chris Arreola
                    Bermane Stiverne

Damn, just imagine Roy vs. Hagler... I imagine Roy would have done a serious number on Hagler and made him look ordinary. I couldn't split a prime Roy and a prime Joe Calzaghe. Both ATGs, Roy probably ranking higher out of the two. I also think Roy done the right thing not going after Lennox Lewis at Heavyweight.
