  • Davey day vs. Lou ambers, henry armstrong

Davey day and lou ambers photo's are on ebay two hrs. Left. If you don't know who davey day is, let me tell you. He was the best of the best, sent henry armstrong to the hospital, ****** up lou ambers, ko pedro montanez, beat sammy angott and robbed in louisville for the lightweight title. Dempsey was the soul referee and judge, making sammy the champion by one point. Hired by angott's manager charlie jones. Mike jacobs zsar of ny boxing promoter, wouldn't let any of his champions to fight davey. Ambers and armstrong turned down $35,000 guaranteed to fight day. Canzoneri, zivic and jenkins wouldn't fight him. He was held back from being lightweight champion in 1931 to 1938 as day and barney ross were stablemates under pian and winch. Merry christmas.

Davey Day, photo's are vintage 1930's wire photo's on EBAY seller is GOLDSTARSTAMPS, or search for ARMSTRONG VS. DAVEY DAY. Very informal narrative. Auction ends in four days. Day pummeled Champion Lou Ambers in a non titled fight, nearly knocking him out. Day sent Armstrong to the hospital, seriously damaged goods. No Champions wanted to fight him. Mike Jacobs Boxing szar of all fights in NY made sure of that. He didn't want to lose any of his puppet Champions. Davey Day was in the same stable with Barney Ross, preventing him from being Champion as early as 1934.
