    Best boxers of WASP heritage?

There have been many great fighters of Italian, ***ish, and Irish descent.

But have we had many White Anglo Saxon Protestant boxers throughout history?

          - -Thought Charlie was Russian, but maybe he was just Crazy.

Most Americans are of mixed bloodlines making them the most disputatious and warlike of the modern nations.

Andy Ruiz was born on the American side of the Mexican border of Mexican parents claims to be Mexican when in fact he is both under the Mexican and American constitution.

Some names that come to mind are:

            Jimmy Wilde
Harry Greb- I think he counts
            Joe Calzaghe
            Bob Fitzsimmons
            Freddie Steele

Not knowing how loose of a definition we are using but I imagine you can count French and German fighters too (Cerdan, Schmelling, etc).

Anglo-Saxon is specifically just from UK.

                Greb’s parents were German immigrants.

Calzaghe would be half. His dad was born in Italy. You can add Jim Driscoll, Freddie Welsh, Ken Buchanan, Benny Lynch, Owen Moran.

See, and I thought you could count Germans in that because the Anglo Saxons were originally Germanic tribes that came over to modern day England after the fall of Rome. Either case it is a very narrow population pool to choose from.

                    - -Not to get pedantic, Anglo Saxon is a specific ethnic group with roots in Gernany who became the ruling class in England, so Greb may well qualify since he spoke English.

Fitz parents were Celts , not Saxons, and Wilde was Welsh and so on and so forth.

When I was a kid, WASP was a popular term thrown around by media and politicians.

Been ages since I've heard it, so now the abc genders are th new fad with media and pols.

                    This too shall pass
