Long career and only stopped twice in 93 bouts. Once by Joe Frazier and another time by George Foreman.
A lot of home cooking throughout his career but a really good draw for the Canadian fight scene.
One of the toughest heavies to ever lace them up.

--- Ray, we finally reach a consensus, who'd have ever thunk it?
How hard do you judge Chuvalo's punch to have been? That is, what more familiar fighter would you compare his power to?
Furthermore, was Chuvalo's power to the body different from his power to the head? Some fighters punch pretty hard downstairs but do not seem to punch that hard upstairs. Is Chuvalo one of those? I am thinking about matching him with Marciano.
Thanks, lads.
Chuvalo fought in the same era of 185 pound heavies as Marciano did and I don't recall anyone of that time saying Chuvalo hit harder or as hard as Marciano. It seems someone should have noticed it
Chuvalo was the toughest of the tough. In the ring a chin of iron. Out of the ring he survived his wife and two children deaths. They don't come tougher.
Even after all those punches he appears fully coherent today in his 70's.
