Seems like he only would've lost if he moved up in weight. Or might get beat in a historic H2H matchup with someone at a higher weight.

As great as he looks on video I think there's a handful of top tier fighters around his weight that could have solved his style. Lopez was not as perfect of a fighter that everyone claims.
I think Roman Gonzalez has the style to beat Lopez IMO.

I'd say on a p4p scale or if Lopez had gone to 112 he'd have came up short against Mark Johnson. Too Sharp was an equally incredible boxer IMO but didn't have the career his talent deserved due to boxing politics and legal problems.

At 105? Nobody. Roman Gonzalez was too green there.
At 108? Chang would've been his bane, if you ask me. Gonzalez was stronger, would've out-punched him there, and was vastly superior as an in-fighter (never a strength of Lopez), so I'd also favor him. Zapata could've beaten him, but I wouldn't favor him more often than not. Too inconsistent mentally. I'd favor him against Gushiken, Carbajal, Humberto Gonzalez, Yuh, Estaba, etc more often than not. Estrada is a close call. He seems to have more grit than Lopez did. Even then.
At 112? Plenty of guys, but he never fought there, so...
Best Strawweight of all time by far.Last edited by Mowglie; 06-12-2018, 07:32 PM.
