Became a WBC dictator and president for freaking life.
The president of WBC had a two-term limit.
Now his son is the president.
Interestingly, Jose was actually not a native Mexican. His family came from Lebanon. He was once caught trying to smuggle Mexican relics to the US. His freaking excuse was he was trying to preserve the history of his people. lol

The 12-rd schedule did not save Kiko Bejines. Sulaiman took some grease money and gave Kiko a title shot against Albert Davilla. The bantam belt was vacated by Lupe Pintor. Kiko lost his last fight by TKO a year before.
Yet, he got a title shot .
He was TKO'd in the 12 rd and died days later.

The same Jose Sulaiman approved the Pac-Margarito catchweight title fight for the vacant jr middle belt . Neither one deserved the title shot.
Months later, Canelo and Hatton fought in yet again a catchweight fight for a freaking vacant title.

    What a shyster.

You guys probably never heard of the Flash Gordon's fish wrap.
He used to be based in NY and sent paper to subscribers.
Flash had inside scoop in boxing.
He exposed many scandals and scams.
Like when Don King and Jose Sulaiman stripped Bobby Chacon of his belt for refusing to fight Camacho.
Bobby fought Boza Edwards for his mandatory defense.
He had an option defense after that .
Camacho was already DK's meal ticket so he wanted him to become a champ .
So, they stripped Bobby and had Camacho and Solis fight for the belt.

The fight that caused WBC to reduce title fights to 12 rounds was the Holmes-Cobb fight .
And Flash also exposed, Howard Cosell was going to get relieved from his boxing duties b/c the team of Clancy/Ryan and Albert/Pacheco were killing them in the ratings.
Howie made up that bullcrap about quitting pro boxing during the Holmes-Cobb fight .
Interesting info. Didn't know Howard was getting killed in the ratings by the two other giants.

--- Howie had Dandy Don and Frank as his backup on Monday nite football that turned the nfl into the mega monolith it became.

One of the top 5 richest globally is Carlos Slim who hails from Armenia also. Mexico is corrupt enough for a wheeler dealer Armenian to do great.

I would have thought the same thing. Things happen, like Holyfield being broke after blowing 300 million.

He wasn't . People got tired of him.
The boxing tandems at CBS with Ryan and Clancy was pretty good. And they had great boxing matches week in and week out .
Dr Pacheco and Marv Albert were killing it too.
The Bobby Czyz vs Robbie Simms middleweight fight was the highest non-title fight that year .

Cossell was sucking it calling fights while he was drunk.

That's true, never thought Evander would end up like that. But heard other parts of his personal weren't right.

Probably should have gotten out after the time of Holmes-Cooney. Still crack up about him trying to feel up Latry Holmes while he was drunk lol.

                      LOL
And the disastrous post-fight interview with Larry and Reynaldo Snipes.
Larry got up and tried to hit Snipes again.
Howard was hit in the mouth.
And Snipes was sliced by his trainer's scissor.

" We'll be right back after I wipe my mouth." lol
