Anyone else rate Sharkey over Jersey Joe Walcott?

Had Tunney fought 2 perfect fights instead of just one I would probably agree with you that Tunney would be favored against Louis. My main concern arises from the long count. Dempsey was able to catch Tunney even if he wasn't able to capitalize on it. I think a prime Joe (and Dempsey for that matter) would be able to catch Tunney sooner and that jab of Louis imo makes the difference here.
I can live with that. Shoulder Roll pointed out something lol, I used the wrong name for Louis great trainer, replace Radburn with Blackburn!

Your arguments for Sharkey are compelling I actually would think about this again...The main question for me is when we put achievements under a microscope for a fighter...when is it appropriate? and when is it just something we could do for any fighter's victory? The fact that Walcott lost under conditions to Charles is fair game to bring up given this comparison.

I am 55 and I have used my brain my entire life. I also used to fight full contact martial arts and racked up a few concussions. One thing I noticed is that I can remember things long term

For example, TR6-5786 the phone number I grew up with as a kid until we moved from New York in 1979... BUT names slay me. I just forget names its like the part of the brain that connects eveything with the name is off... I try not to think about it but it is kind of concerning.
