He had everything but a one punch KO, and the reason for that has just been given. I was pretty sure that at least highlights of the second Robinson bout existed. But when I mentioned it, there was a universal Nay from forumites, so I was probably wrong.

I have seen that fight. I am ready to admit it may have been in a dream. When I watched this fight what I saw was Robinson having to box carefully. Somewhat a departure from his usual ****ing boxer style.

Keed whips today's welters. Thurman is all natural talent and way overrated because of it, which is normal for fast twitch fiber guys. Gav would be a little too much and a little too big for Maweather to handle as usual. Mayweather can only be at welterweight because the historically strong division was pitifully weak when he made his run there. He has never beaten a welterweight of any note whatsoever. Honestly, I would expect Basilio to pound out a tough decision over Mayweather. Floyd absolutely could not budge Carmen with a punch.

I believe Gavilan would be an equal match with Hearns, whom he would sometimes beat. Leonard would find a way to win, and we know Robby found a way. As for guys like Mickey Walker--he was a pure monster, so one cannot know or guess well the results of that. Gavilan/Benitez would be very interesting. A razor thin decision either way.

Kid would have blown through 147/154 today. Duran, Leonard, Hearns and Norris would give him the most trouble. Possibly PAC given his speed and angles. Outside of them I don't give too many other WWs of the last 40 years a chance.

Perhaps an enthusiastic researcher will locate a su****ious moment in his career when his KO percentage went to Hades, or even name the fight. Of course he fought Robinson in the 1940's, when presumably, then, he would have still been at his physical best. Anyway, it would be interesting. My own plate is too full right now.

Wikipega says in 1947 Keed went 11-1-1, but with only 3 knockouts. Maybe he never could really blast. That does not seem true when you watch him perform. He is a bit mercurial. He can choose to be different things at different times.
