    Slow count in Tyson-Douglas?

I watched Tyson-Douglas and noticed that when Tyson knocked Douglas down in the 8th, Douglas was on the canvas long enough to be counted out, but still got up to beat the count.

What do you think? Was it a slow count?

I thought the controversy for most was from the fact the ref didn't pick up the timekeeper's count and ensured Tyson was in neutral corner before starting the count.

Doesn't matter, Douglas could have gotten up with either the time keepers 10 count or the referees 10 count (the only one that's official)

Yeah it was a bad count... not sure if it was slow, but I think ref stepped away for a few seconds and then resumed his count if I remember correctly

If Tyson had a little experience in his predicament he would not have spent so much time getting his mouth piece back in his mouth and focused on getting up. If he made it up, the referee might have called a time out and picked up his mouth piece for him, giving him a few more seconds to recover.
But then again when you are hurt you are dazed. Tyson might have not even realized he was down right away. "huh? That's my mouth piece, what is it doing on the ground?"

The count for Douglas may or may not have been questionable but I believe it was Don King and the inept Tyson camp that complained after their lost. If Tyson ended up winning, I doubt the subject of that count would have generated any interest.

The rules are, its the referee's count of 10! No referee's count of 10 is 100% accurate to 10 seconds! I bet you, a lot of referee's counts are ether too fast or too long at times!
