    Everyone so far could have the wrong angle on 24 retirements from Marciano. I took it to mean he made 24 fighters retire on their stools or not be allowed to come out for the next bee.

      Some time back (in an earlier post) Marchegiano says he realized later that he should used the phrase 'career ending' and not 'retired.'

      Which still seems kind of amazing, that 29 of his 49 fights resulted in his opponent never fighting again.

      That seems hard to believe but certainly not impossible.

        Golovkin was starting to get that kind of run too.

          Does it mean that they are monsters in the ring or are they building soft records against 'finished' fighters?

              They counted, right? And the numbers did not add up for the phrase to mean that. The only think left is retirement on stool.
