Loose talk and bold claims would go out the window.

You could hardly find a person willing to bet on a Klitscho if one of the galutes had to face the prime Ali who beat Williams.

What fool is actually going to bet on Mayweather against Robinson at welterweight when the wager is his own life?

You can bet that those bold turtles would withdraw into their shells quickly. They proclaim loudly now that MW would be too clever for Robby, et al. But what if it were about to happen? You would not be able to locate any who claimed before they would bet everything on Klitscho. Well, now is the chance to bet everything. Where are the loudmouths now?

I know where my life would be in both fights. Not on a sure thing, but on the best chance to survive.

Serious stakes... especially as I usually sit on the fence when nothing is on the line.

I've no hesitation in backing Robinson and probably lean towards Ali... though not as confident.

I would certainly bet on Robinson, but I'd double down on my bet that Mayweather would never get in the ring with him to begin with.

Kinda reminds me of the Twilight Zone episode A Game of Pool, where Jack Klugman is made to bet his life on a single game.

Yes, these matchups arre obviously much more in Robinson's favor. Little 5'7" MW has no escape. Robinson is almost as fast and hits much harder. Turning a side to Robby on the ropes is plain suicide.

Ali has more of a task, for sure, but let's not forget the lack of fighting instinct of his Klitscho opponents. Vlad is now 70 fights in and still makes novice mistakes. Every fight there is something basic he needs to learn. When 70 fights is not enough to realize you have to throw punches to beat Tyson Fury or that one should finish Joshua immediately when he is gassed and hurt, then no amount of fights can teach this galute fighting instinct.

He is up against a man with as much fighting instinct as has ever been seen in a boxing ring. One thing Vlad cannot handle is a rapid charging attack. He could not even endure it from the lumbering Joshua who is being given way too much credit for their fight. Any real fighter would have had Joshua out for the count on several occasions.

Five or six straight punches into the face in about six seconds, and Vlad would be on his back or tangled in the ropes as Ali raised his arms again. I think it is an easy call, though as Joe pointed out, it is no absolute cinch and could involve a little nail biting.
