Compton's bio on Harry Greb is an amazing achievement. An active, controversial, and often truculent poster on boxing forums, his book is one of the best boxing bios ever written.

Clay Moyle' s books are always well researched. His works on Langford and Miske are the standards for those two boxers.

I have yet to read Adam Pollack, but he is held in universal high regard.

A few of the older works I've enjoyed are Ruby Robert, Famous Prize Fights by Farnhol, and Mickey Walkers bio Toy Bulldog.

Jose Ribalta has a book out, available as an e-book. If you look at his record, it's pretty respectable based on who he fought and when.

The hurt business by kimball. It's a collection of writing over a period of almost a 100 years. Very very good.

And plimptons shadow box. It's quite self indulgent but funny and heartfelt.

I just picked up a book about Thomas Hearns. It's good thus far.
