Leonard an ATG. A shade faster perhaps. But we never saw Robinson at his best or fastest.. He is fast enough to eventually catch Leonard. Leonard may be the best ring general of all time IMO. Of course he will be punching throughout, and could even win. He was no chicken or quitter. He was always there to win. He sits with Tunney and a few others as greatest fighting generals. Some great ring generals are not really fighters--they run in the ring and view the battle from a hilltop. Leonard fights and mixes it up.
But Robby's feet and hands were not exactly slow. Any slight disparity there is made up for by power, skill, depth and wiliness. It will not be Robinson doing the running, because he knows what he carries. Leonard knows what he carries too, so will be very busy in evasion mode, needing to flow faster and more continuously than we ever saw in his career. Both men are brilliant body punchers.
How many times can Leonard launch one of his flurries without getting caught and caught good? That is the question.
