    Old Philly style

It appears Philadelphia is having a slight resurgence with good fighters however there were so many more greats before. Just watching Harold Johnson, and wondering if there are any old school Philly trainers/teachers? And who are the best?

George benton was one of the slickest fighters off all time. Also known as a legendary oldschool trainer. He trained whitaker, taylor, holyfied etc.

yep pretty much. Philly fighters were/are meant to be tough, a bit like the typical mancunian or mexican

Lol at grouping Mancunian with Mexican. Philly fighters are the epitome of tough but they have fantastic fundamentals but sometimes their heart and fighting spirit takes over (hence fighters like Taylor and more recently Cunningham losing fights they could had won if they chose to box more instead of fight). So who are he best Philly trainers anyone?

I would love to be trained by Hopkins, he is one of the few fighters that i listen frequently.

Manchester has produced some very tough fighters. If you haven't seen them, it's not my fault.

Mexican fighters have better fundamentals in most cases and have produced more greats than philadelphia but the perception is that fighters from Philly are tough. That's what I'm saying.
