i don'te care wat kind of shape you stay in, the wars with holyfield would have taken some of the prime out of any man. evander holyfield was hardly human.

but yes, bowe had incredible talent and boxing skills. he boxed in a great, great era.

Where he only fought one great, great boxer.

To this day some still think that wasn't his fault too.

they fought three times, and really he was never the same guy after the first fight. few people would be.

and he went 2-1 with a knockout against one of the most accomplished HW of all time. beat contenders in a very good era, too.

2-1 against an undersized cruiserweight who sometimes outslugged him, and easily outboxed him. Evander would be 3-0 over Bowe if he stuck to boxing and moving instead of choosing to fight a massively bigger man's fight

The second best heavyweight Bowe faced, brother in whacky brains Golota, smacked him from pillar to post but of course that's not poor victim Rid****'s fault either cause you know, big fat baby couldn't stop stuffing his face.

          Bowe is an overrated overachiever.

It took years for Evander to grow into heavyweight. Only one year before he faced Bowe, Evander got knocked down and hurt numerous times by little Bert Cooper. 5 years later he's taking Mike Tyson's best combinations to the head(right to the body-right uppercut head & right to to body, left hook head) without flinching.

Rid**** enjoyed an advantage of 3 inches of height, 3 inches of reach and over 30 pounds of lean mass over Evander.

And even then he only got the better of Holyfield when he decided for himself that he was gonna slug and go for the KO against the bigger man. In the rematch he outboxed Bowe comfortably.

Lets face it, Bowe is one of the most overrated boxers we've seen. He ducked an entire era of great heavyweights while going life and death with a smaller man and always had luck on his side.

Sure he was not at his best vs Golota but it showed so many holes in his game especially defensively. The level of ass kicking he got cannot be explained away on him not being motivated. He would not have been an Atg. The 90s were too stacked.

And its pathetic he couldnt motivate himself. Poor baby needed someone to hold his hand along the way. Much Like Tyson, another Brooklyn bully.
Except Tyson was better and now considered one of the best ever at HW and fought everyone, including Holyfield and Lewis.

Btw NE, I would also like for you to clarify this amazing list of contenders Bowe beat.

Because I know he didn't fight Lewis, Tyson, Ruddock, Mercer, Morrison, Bruno, McCall, Tua, Ike, Moorer, Foreman, Briggs etc. in other word the who's who of his era.
