Corrales IMO could prolly be one of those fighters who get in 20 years down the line on one of those vintage era enterances that they do.
That's leaving out the win of Castillo. To act like the manner in which that fight played out doesn't add to his stock is crazy.

You know you are right I left out his best win which was the first Castillo fight. But regardless I say he wont get in anytime soon and if he does get in it will be a vintage type enterance if at all.

Well he deserves to get in more than Gatti did. And wouldn't Holyfield also be on the ballot too, since next summer will be past the 5 year mark since his last fight?

            Pacquiao
            Hopkins
            Jones jr.
            Wlad
            Mosley
            Toney
            Marquez
            Cotto

So 5 years down the road, they will all become eligible for HOF-status at the same time. Which means, that 5 of those 8 (who you would think, under normal circumstances, would all be first-year inductees) will have to wait another year (or two!), to even get a spot on the ballot. That would be a bit strange!

Pacquiao, Hopkins, and Jones Jr. would get in.

So do I... hard to imagine that not happening!

And I believe Barrera is also eligible next year - so he will probably get in too.

Then that should be a hell of a 2017 class.

Of course it is only the icing on the cake and they won world title(s) as well but the plain fact that they "let those guys in the ring with Mayweather/Pacquiao" will be the last pushing reason to put them in the HOF.

It is the same as the Ali effect. Nowadays people look at Ali and watch his fights and his opponents' names get enhanced so much because Ali fought them.
I know it is strange, maybe silly or wrong but that is what I believe.
I believe Ricky Hatton will be in the HOF more or less because of that.
I believe Robert Guerrero might end up in the HOF because of that.
I believe Marcos Maidana might end up in the HOF because of that.
I believe Timothy Bradley will end up in the HOF because of that.

Yes, it won't be enough for guys like Clottey or Ortiz or Baldomir and there are guys like Cotto, Marquez, De la Hoya and Mosley who obviously do not have to rely on that little push to get in the HOF because their legacies are strong enough on their own.
between them Hatton, Marquez, De La Hoya, Castillo, Corrales, Mosley, Gatti, Morales, Barrera, Cotto,

Canelo may make the hall as well. He has a lot of upside

thats not bad considering how few fights they had in comparison to 100+ fight careers of boxings past
