Ah man, Gatti, loved him. He's exactly what I think about when I hear the word "fighter" and I'm glad Jim Lampley now has a Gatti List for boxing's best warriors.

I don't buy that he committed suicide either. Seems like his wife pulled something and got away with it due to very sloppy police work.

He would have been 44 years old today. Arturo Gatti, one of the most loved fighters the sport has ever known, tragically died in 2009. To celebrate his birthday, let's take a look what the late Emanuel Steward described as the 'Round of the Century' against Micky Ward in their breath-taking encounter in 2002.

I'm new to this site but I was here on April 15th and was bothered no body posted about Arturo "Thunder" Gatti! I guess I was wrong! JMHO more people should have posted!

There is no one who could convince me Thunder was not killed! R.I.P.

The wife got the money, now she can have Brazillian boy toys who live on the beach--in mansions, of course. She did not want a beast of a drinking man, but by golly, that money was needed. So you get some friends to recommend some people who work cheap. It's your hood anyway. She knew where she was. Brazillian males will kill people just for a piece of tail. She knew that. Her thugs-for-tail caught Arty drunk and hung him up nice with a purse strap? He was too drunk to throw a lefhook, we know that.

1967: An all-white jury takes 20-minutes to find World Heavyweight Champion Muhammad Ali guilty of draft evasion. The champ may have been against the ropes, but he was far from beat.

1980: Roberto Duran W 15 Sugar Ray Leonard, Montreal. Wins World Welterweight Title. “Judge” Angelo Poletti scores the fight 148-147(3-2-10 in rounds!!) in favor of Duran.

1981: Alexis Arguello W 15 Jim Watt, London. Wins WBC Lightweight Title.

It's a shame that Graziano was one of those well known fighters that didn't have his best nights on film. So we get a flash knockdown of Robinson which was quickly compensated for by Robinson knocking him out. Then Rocky crawling his way up the ladder of ring ropes for a last unsteady suicide try at Zale......But that was pretty damned impressive. If you're gonna go you might as well go all the way.
