....oh look he's trying to "stir the pot" again by calling the ATG Archie Moore a bum!

How cute from the little guy who talks constantly but says NOTHING!

It might be time once again to freeze the lil' goober out. Your BS is old!!

Yes they are way over your head. no shame in that. You can learn, there is much information available for you to peruse! Its nice to hear you finally after all this time admit the truth...Good job.

May I suggest Utube? you can watch and see Moore's technical work, there are even people who analyze it for you...start there and come back maybe we can get you some written articles as well.

Looks like you turned a corner...finally

One can see the influence of Moore even in karate where great teachers such as Riley Hawkins teach the use of the shoulder and slidding in similar to the mongoose/old mongoose.

Both men went way up the divisions because they had the skills and punch to compensate for being smaller than most other heavyweights. Archie fought so much and would often win "by a thousand cuts" so to speak, instead of one big finale. Even in his KO's Moore often set them up through attrition much as Toney did...Toney was even able to drop Holyfield, which was quite a feat even at that time in Evander's career.

before I go on, lets see what others have to say about these two slippery, methodical counterpunchers who could also put "lights out!"
I like them both. Moore definitely had the edge on conditioning. If they fought, I could see Toney having success against him in spurts, but I think Moore outworks him in a tough fight and winning a decision. In a 15 rounder, Moore might stop him as well.

A lot of stylistic similarities. Moore hit a bit harder, Toney's hands were a little faster. Archie Moore was clear enough after retirement to act in movies, whereas Toney could no longer recite Mary Had A Little Lamb so that anyone could understand it. You would probably think it was the Gettysburg Address.

To be fair: In the world of professional competative eating, Toney eats more lambchops than Moore.

Archie Moore IMO is one of the greatest 10-20 fighters in the history of the sport.

                  James Toney no where close.

toney said in an old Ring magazine interview his two favorite fighters were archie moore and ezzard Charles. he used to watch old films of Charles, trying to copy his style.

Moore was always in great shape, he was an amazing man who after many more fights than most guys have today, against elite fighters and world champions and like sugar Ray Robinson had no visible signs of brain damage.
