Everyone has loyalties, hold grudges & owe & need favors. But like I said I wouldn't have an issue with a bunch of boxing nerds to do the rankings at some point. Thats who you want doing the rankings. I just don't think more rankings right now, specifically TBRB rankings, are going to do anything positive for the sport whatsoever let alone somehow led us to a one world champion boxing universe again.

There are too many everythings (titles, rankings, guys who can get boxing license, opposing outfits, etc & so on) in boxing. We need less of things & to get to less things you need to put your neck on the line & make those big changes in the sport that need to happen to reverse the perversity thats gone on in boxing over the last several decades.

The only thing thats going to get boxing to a one champion system again any time soon is PBC. And thats probably a long shot & even if they do succeed its unlikely to happen for 6-10 years from now at best.

Tbrb and ring magazine seem pretty legit. The espn divisional rankings fat dan compiles are not far off and pretty legit as well.

In your opinion, who is the rightful, lineal owner of the World Title in each division as of today?

This is how TBRB and The Ring see it:
        *Transnational Boxing Rankings Board
        **The Ring Magazine

        Heavy: Tyson Fury***
        Cruiser: Vacant
        Lt. heavy: Adonis Stevenson*, Vacant**
        Super middle: Andre Ward*, Vacant**
        Middle: Saul Alvarez***
        Jr middle: Vacant
        Welter: Vacant
        Jr welter: Vacant
        Light: Vacant
        Jr light: Vacant
        Feather: Vacant
        Jr feather: Guillermo Rigondeaux***
        Bantam: Vacant
        Jr bantam: Vacant
        Fly: Roman Gonzalez***
        Jr fly: Vacant*, Donnie Nietes**

I bet you don't even see the real problem with this. The problem isn't that TBRB & Ring have a difference of opinion in a few divisions. Its that in 10 of the 17 divisions none of the best guys have fought to even re-establish a lineal title in the opinions of TBRB & Ring. You can say this group or that group has better rankings, but there is a HUUUUUUGGGGGGGEEEE structural problem with fighters fighting each other in boxing that rankings just won't fix.

And I still say it'd never get widely accepted simply cuz Transnational Boxing Rankings Board is a horrible mouthful of a name. And TBRB sounds like some sort of chronic or terminal medical diagnosis. "I'm sorry son...you need to get your affairs in order...you got TBRB."

I agree with most of those. Except Ward should still be champ, like he is in The Ring and Stevenson doesn't deserve to be champ, until he fights Kovalev, so I agree with The Ring stripping him of the title for not fighting him or another top contender. Unbiased rankings are a good start, but there still needs to be one universally recognized champion and something in place to keep the top contenders from avoiding each other. Like it or hate it, at least in MMA, if someone doesn't fight the top contender, they get stripped of a title before they fight someone else or sometimes kicked out of the promotion or leave, like when Tito Ortiz was ducking Chuck Liddell when he was light heavy champ years ago. I don't know, maybe start a league, with good people running it and good pay for the fighters.
