  • Holyfield 30/30 Tyson myths

In the vid below this kid Greg Rowe has a you tube channel, hes relatively reasonable in most of his vids ...this one in particular I think hit the nail on the head so much even Tyson detractors cant refute anything he says from beginning to end!

I can't stand him. Had an argument with him about Dempsey Vs Tyson and because his daughter's middle name is Dempsey he thinks that means he knows everything about him

Speaking about Tyson at the Training Center being unsure and needing to be
handled carefully those statements from Teddy Atlas were 100% true!
The difference between Tyson and other kids there was that Mike was being groomed to be the champion of the world, the other competitors were there to box and win a tournement. I was there as the team coach (region 1) with my son who was the 132 Region 1 champ along with Mike being the heavyweight champ. I don't know of any junior olympic kids who were being groomed to be the heavyweight champion of the world!!!
Tyson felt that kind of pressure no other kid went through that.
He felt it and it bothered him severely to the point were we put him in a rental car and drove around Colorado Springs till 3am just to calm him down
        away from the center.
Thats one senerio that I know personally and that guy in the video is wrong!

The second being that Mike was scared of Evander, no he was NOT scared however the bully getting bullied is the reality and getting butted doesn't mean you bite the guy TWICE the second time knowing your DQ'd! If anything you fight harder and lay it all out with your fists not your teeth.

The rest of the discussion is all common knowledge!

Teddy was hurt by Tysons actions towards his family. He was hurt by Cus too
because it was Teddy who put the heavy hours in with Mike, he also traveled with Mike and Cus didn't stand with Teddy on disciplining Mike!

So thats that as to Tyson in the first J.O. Training camp. The second one was handled by Kevin and I went to Italy ha!

....again cant you read and in this case HEAR!
The vid states that Teddy had a bone to pick and he made up the fact that Mike was a very fragile young man and the guy in the vid states "all kids" felt
that way! Well they didn't! As a ABF/USA team coach I'm stating that 14 & 15 year old kids aren't groomed to the Heavyweight Champ as Tyson was.
He had alot of pressure that he pilled on him self. He was from a background where no one relied on him or expected anything from him now as a 15 year old he had the world on him. He loved Cus and the Catskills surroundings and felt the pressure. Get it goofy?

Well it worked out for the best then. Teddy Atlas was just as crazy as Mike and he would have eventually ran this thing through the ground instead of making Tyson the champ and unifying the titles even after Cus died, which is what Kevin Rooney did.

Well that pretty much true, thats what Cus confided in me for to keep an eye on Teddy!
Kevin just handled the training he had nothing to do with business.

You're a fool ray he clearly says all kids feel that pressure because they "DO" and in Tysons case was more than average pressure for him to win. Maybe actually watch the vid and stop posting made up Tyson stories you were NOT invlolved in,clearly Atlas had a dislike for Tyson and made tall tales like he does with everyone that rubs him wrong....

Atlas would have kept Tyson in check and be more outspoken had he and Rooney been around I don't see King in the picture...Rooney was passive enough to not tell Tyson off and he let the worms slide in... Atlas wouldn't have let that happen.
