Tall heavy'w's with a great reach are dominant force now.

Just look Klitschkos, Fury, Wilder, Joshua etc. It's not new thing, that's from Lennox's days. That's why he dominated HW divion in 90's and beat beat guys like Holyfield, Tyson.
Also how Bowe beat Holyfield.

The real distinction comnes by this.

Holyfield's resume does not even come close to Lewis's.

And I consider Holyfield a top 6-4 and Lewis a top 3-1 HW. THAT'S the difference! The difference between the second tier top 3 from the 1st tier top 3 is greater than tyhat between Holy and all others basically..

I admitted that Lewis has a better resume. Better fighters on it, sure.

But resume is irrelevant WHEN THEY ACTUALLY FOUGHT !!!

And an aging, past his best Holyfield arguably outboxed Lewis in his second fight and won. Lewis was not a dominant force. He was the best of the best, but not DOMINANT. There is no telling what would happen between the younger Holyfield of the second Bowe fight and a prime Lewis. It's a toss-up!

Vitali isn't dominant either, he's fighting never-beens. Only Wladimir is a truly dominant heavyweight champion.

Jack Johnson was known as "The Galveston Giant", but he was 6'2, 200 lbs. He'd be dwarfed by today's HWs.

Ali's median weight was 212lbs, cruiser on fight night and his opponents were 200lbs (sub cruisers).

Klitschko's median fight weight is 245ls and his opponents 237lbs.

37lbs difference between the last punch bag era and the currrent times. Enormous! It's about 2 large weight divisions.

Well, post Lewis, two giants have indeed dominated the heavyweight scene but the vast majority of heavies ,especially those at the highest level (title holders or title challengers) have mostly been from 6'0'' - 6'3'' and 220-240lb. So yes, it' s a bit of a myth that modern heavies are so much bigger, not to mention Povetkin and Haye are probably the best of the rest and they aren't exactly giants.
