Fight of the Year 1990 - Chavez vs Taylor or Benn vs Eubank?

Just reviewed these two boxing classics.

Which on do you think really deserved to win FOTY in 1990?

Was it Chavez vs Taylor, the light-welterweight unificatin fight, with the dramatic last second victory?

Or was it Nigel Benn vs undefeated Chris Eubank for the WBO middleweight title in an all out war?

both fights were amazing. I think it just comes down to a personal choice and to me I went with chavez Taylor but certainly understand those with the viewpoint of benn ubank

Both great fights but chavez-taylor is/was one of the most talked about fights ever..

Plus the stakes were higher because of chavez's historical winning streak

I guess it did also. Chavez-Taylor involved two p4p top five fighters though. Two undefeated champions. Higher magnitude fight. Both were great fights.

I guess I'm alone in thinking benn vs eubank was a better fight.

Chavez-Taylor was of course incredible the first time I watched it, and it's still incredible with every rewatch because it all leads up to the epic ending which you know is coming.

Benn vs Eubank was a great fight, but Chavez vs Meldrick Taylor was two young champions in their zenith who were both top 5 maybe top 3 P4P at the time. Plus the fight was just hands down great.

Benn vs Eubank could have been FOTY if there was no Chavez-Taylor. But no disrespect to the Benn-Eubank fight its just chavez-taylor was just better all around.

How about this Benn-Eubank is arguably the best British fight of all time.
