    Serious Robbery Here...

This is why I never liked Benn. He would cheat like hell and loved rabbit punches. Barkley should have sued over this.

    What's the big deal???

Barkley got hit flush and rocked multiple times, and dropped 3 times with a 3 knockdown rule in effect.. Yeah benn was alittle dirty, hitting when Barkley was down, but it was nothing major, benn won cleanly

That punch was late and very blatant. Not even a point deduction? Watch Terry Norris vs. Joe Walker. Pretty close and Norris got DQ'd.

Didn't the same thing happen to norris in one of the Luis Santana fights?

Yeah. I know in the second fight, he hit after the bell and way after the bell. Not sure about the first but he got DQ'd...in Mexico! Must have been bad. Haha

            What's the big deal...

            Benn was a little dirty...

            Benn won cleanly...

He might have won it but there was nothing clean or clear about that fight. It was an absolute mess of an affair and robbed us of what might have been one of the greatest wars of that, or possibly any, era.

First, hitting someone when they are down, not once but multiple times, and blatantly is not just a little dirty and it is a big deal. That's a fight losing foul in most instances that obviously, let alone doing it blatantly, multiple times. At the very, very least it's a point deduction, and often an immediate DQ.

He hits him two or three times after the first knockdown, then very, very blatantly after the second. The first is enough for a serious warning, the second is absolutely grounds for an immediate DQ or point deduction at the very least. He's watching him on all fours on the ground not in the act of throwing any punches, and then he winds up and takes a full blooded swing, at the back of his head no less. I don't know what sport you've been watching but that's never been a small, only a 'little dirty' foul. That's always been considered a dirty, major foul to do. The moron of a ref, Padilla, doesn't even say anything though.

Benn should have been DQ'd. That was more flagrant than when Roy Jones did it to Montel Griffin.

                Exactly.

Most of the time when fighters get hit, they are moving or trying to avoid the punch. When they are down and still, hitting them has twice the impact if not more and serious damage can be done that can end a career. Padilla should have disqualified him on the spot on that second knockdown. It is no wonder McClellan is in the shape he is now. I could not believe the incompetency of the referee in that fight and because of that fight alone, I always advocate that no boxer travel to England to fight. Of course, this happened in Vegas. What a disgrace. Barkley should have sued.

That's also what makes MMA a little dangerous, that a fighter continues to throw punches on the ground. No ref stepping in with a 10 count there, so a good hard punch or 3 on the ground and the fight is usually stopped.
