    griffin was really slick, his style was a nightmare for james toney also, who lost to griffin and also lost his motivation to fight for a few years, until the jirov fight. that DQ loss brought out the beast in RJJ, it was the only time in his career he ever tried to finish someone in the first round, the rematch did more for roy's career than the first fight took away

        Griffin 1 is kind of the only fight I remember a prime RJ having anything but a field day. He had tough-ish starts to other fights, but started picking people apart from rounds 2 onwards.
