Lennox Lewis vs Vitali Klitschko is overrated

Good fight that ended on a cut, but people talk as if it was a fight for the ages.

Probably not helped by the complete lack of entertaining top level HW fights since then

Barrera-McKinney and Gatti-Rodriguez were that year, which makes it even more insane.

Fight of the year was more so most anticipated event of the year back then.

Holyfield was a massive underdog, going up against a rejuvenated monster in Tyson, who had regained a portion of the heavyweight crown. It's ridiculous to imagine how people were talking about Holyfield, many were fearing for his well being.

There is nothing in boxing that year that had to offer what this fight did, the winning underdog, a KO, action, big punches landed on both sides and a remarkable, historic event.

Barrera/Gatti and a few others put on great fights that year but the un-hipster reality is, nothing beats Holyfield/Tyson 1 in 96.

Except the fact that the fight wasn't very competitive.
