Camacho
Can't let a follow OG from East Harlem Puer toe Rico, catch that kind of spit....
One has to make a comparison with Jones and imagine if Jones was going to fight a bunch of punchers who could pressure like Popeye and Alexis... people would say he would, at least at times, be on his bicycle. but they would never doubt his speed and the power of those hooks coming in. Camacho had that type of speed and a gift for using it.
Camacho's speed would bother these guys, it may not prevail, but it would be a competative match. Its not like someone could shut down Camacho and make him run. What goes for heart, someone like Gomez against Sanchez, is a wonderful quality but in that fight both guys were there to be hit all night. Camacho did not fight like that.Comment

Sanchez was young when he died. It has to be assumed that if nature were allowed to take its course, he would've further filled out. Probably, his career best would have been at 130 pounds. And even a lengthy stint at 135 was a possibility.
Against Arguello there's no clear outcome; though Sal has to be the strong favorite at 126 and steep underdog at 135. A fight at 118 is kinda insignificant but potentially exciting. At 130 it's a masterpiece - regardless of the winner. Arguello needs to be favored because he actually fought there. But Sal is the better fighter on film, and likely compensates well for the physical deficits and experience he surrenders to Alexis.
Even today, our very coddled fighters have off-nights or settle to fight down to their opponent's level, or get paired with a stylistic nightmare of a dance partner. (These fighters who have every conceivable accommodation afforded them except the promise their opponent try to punch them). You have to assume that such active fighters with reckless lifestyles as Arguello and Sanchez would do government work from time to time.
Sanchez and Arguello both struggled with movers, but that's obviously not a problem they'd be having when facing the other. Even more importantly, they really turned it on when it actually mattered.Comment
