check out the fight and the scorecards...
Here is what Duran said in the post-fight interview.
Duran: "He came to tear my head off, but when he saw that I could hit him hard, with strength, he got scared and became a coward. That's why he didn't take too many chances and mix it up with me. Everyone was saying he was a destroyer, but when he hit me, he didn't do anything to me. His punches absolutely did me no damage. He got scared every time he threw a jab because I could get my right in under it. That's why he held off so much."Comment

No, not hurt feelings. Sonny is a shock jock. That is the only way he can get the attention of anyone at all. Ridiculous contentions are the proper tools of a shock jock's trade. Without the riduculous contention, there is no attention forthcoming.
Lennox Lewis was a scrub and now Hagler is. Next, who knows? Whatever shocks people and makes them react. I have these guys like Juggy and Sonny pegged, and barely bother with them anymore. Their posts are worthless for information and insight, but delightful for unintended humor and the idiocy they illuminate.Comment

Ray was not beating Marvin, and he knew it, which is why he didn't fight him, or make ridiculous claims for Hagler to come down to 154. If Marvin had a stronger psyche, he wouldn't have went through some of the s**t he had to deal with with Ray, and he could've retired champion. But to get back to your question, if those two fought in 1982, Ray would have lost to Marvin by a hardfought decision, taking a little beating in the process. Marvin would bruise him up, but not floor him.Comment

judges: Jose Juan Guerra 110-118, Lou Filippo 115-113, Dave Moretti 113-115
Those are the official scores. No rational person would call that a landslide. No experienced fan would call that fight a landslide. I have no problem with Leonard winning a squeaker, but your agenda driven description has no credibility.
And harder punches count more than softer ones. I thought everyone knew that.Comment

A landslide? Really?

You talk nothing but garbage.
Try telling the judges of Willie Pep fights that harder punches count more than softer ones..or fighters like Pernell Whitaker, Meldrick Taylor, Chris Byrd, Nicolino Locche and a long list of IBHOF fighters LOL..
Everything you come out with is a joke!Comment

Once again, you are talking a heap of bullshyt. Boxing is scored on "correct punches landed on target".. nothing whatsoever to do with how hard the fighter throws the punch. There is no "Richter Scale" in the ring for the judges to check to see how hard the punch is, each time a fighter lands a shot...
