Easily Duran! Ali had hisown style and methods that were against alot of boxing techniques that were proven.
Duran was a pure boxer/puncher (at 135) who had excellant foot & hand speed with power. He moved his head well and worked his counters off that head movement well. Simply a complete fighter that goes hand & hand woith a p4p evaluation. Ali was Ali unique in every way!

Super close.. Both top 10 guys all time..

I give the nod to ali.. You can't just base it off skills alone, when you look at the actual accomplishments in the ring, I give it to ali...

Duran was more skilled in more ways, but ali accomplished more

Can you expand on this. Are you saying ali beat better opponents?

Both fought extremely tough competition and their careers were actually very similar.. Ali dominated 60s, and then past prime had huge fights in the 70s.. Same thing with duran who dominated the 70s, then past prime had huge fights in the 80s.. The difference being ali more times than not, won the big fight in the 70s, whereas more times than not duran lost the big fights in the 80s

Like I said earlier, duran is more skilled in more areas, but you can't rate a fighter solely on skills, there have been many fighters in history that had great skills but arent as great as guys with lesser skills... Henry Armstrong isn't as skilled as floyd or a tommy hearns, but is a greater fighter.. Same thing with duran and ali... Duran more skilled but ali the greater fighter.. And in all honesty, we are really just splitting hairs between 2 greats

On achievements and overall career, Ali gets a slight nod.

Skill wise its Duran, and in a mythical p4p fight duran would give Ali all sorts of trouble.

Duran is the possibly finest boxer I've ever seen. His overall skill set is incredible.

Duran, Sweet Pea, and Hagler are my 3 favourites for all round skills and ability. James toney on his best day too but he didnt have the consistency of those guys.

i would not call Marvin Hagler "Skillful" Marvin was a Tough-Cookie who beat-down his opponents with a relentless aggressive assault. He was an incredibly durable and incredibly fit individual. But skillful, `i can't have that!
