Cooney fought and beat the better opposition, his left-hook was quite brutal when thrown correctly..
Morrison actually fought a well disciplined fight against big George using hand and foot speed to box his way to points victory wisely not trying to trade with George like holyfield did. He did not have evander's chin.

Morrison fought a better foreman, when Cooney fought him Foreman was just getting back to boxing, even though Cooney himself came back from a long layoff...Morrison had a more seasoned Foreman to deal with.Heavan help us if someone actually uses skill to defeat him,it is called being a coward i guess post 80's when anyone using skill was called a bum.....didn't Ali out box out smart him?Total obliviousness ...the better hook ?Morrison and this vid should absolutely kill this thread...he had the BEST hook EVER period anyone brave enough to click on that link and actually watch it,then say otherwise is a fool!!

        Cooney

[I don't think anyone is discrediting Morrisons Raw power of course he had it, the question is, and the answer is, Cooney had more of it than him, just a little slower,
I actually think Morrison had more raw power on top of all the other advantages. Some people seem to do the same to Tyson but I don't feel that speed and accuracy discredits raw power.[/QUOTE]

cooney was heavier handed and had more "thudding" type power but morrison had tremendous speed and snap on his hook. judging by there kayos id say cooney inflicted more pain while morrsion just sedated you and put you to sleep with that snap and speed. both had brutal hooks. just different types of power there
