Sorry my spelling is for ****. It all started when I was studying mandarin. Suddenly when I had to spell something my brain didn't work properly...

Depends how you rate power. Vitali had more heavy handedness, meaning that any shot he threw throughout the course of the fight could hurt you, but in terms of one shot power Wlad is leagues above him. It's like the difference between Baer and Louis, or Foreman and Tyson.

Sure, his technique and delivery weren't as top notch as some of the other fighters on your list, but if he hit you it wasn't just lights out, it was city wide power failure. And his left was as crisp and compact as anyone's on that list, including Morrison's.
Wlad also is shown to have a very powerful punch the only guy to drop Mercer I think definatly tko'd him with head shots, even a bit older...I never really paid attention to ruiz, very limited fighter.I would have to re look his record.

You can watch films of Bauer on Utube. he often looks horrendous and is clowning, but catch the times when he throws that punch with bad intentions.... It was not particularly straight, yet not clubbing. It was certainly fast, but the thing about that shot from Bauer is how explosive the punch is.
I've never seen him as an explosive puncher, really, not compared to Louis at any rate. Baer was a puncher of the heavy handed variety, a sort of proto-Foreman with less raw power and a wilder, less disciplined style. He was a beast versus the types of opponents who were around then, but he can't hold a candle to any of the punchers from the 70s onwards. His power wouldn't even measure a blip on the radar in the puncher-stacked 90s, and I'm not saying that to be disrespectful of the man; it's just how I see it.

Evander dropped him as well. Lampley mentions it as coming from a body shot in the Wlad fight, but it came from a crisp left hook.

I think Mercer was hit with the body shot but took the knee avoiding the left hook,it doesn't look to land before he drops to the one knee.Id have to watch that again,i actually had that on a vhs tape.

Nope. Two short hooks, one from a clinch.
