I think it probably has something to do with their build. Even though Vitali is the naturally taller man (obviously) he's not necessarily the bigger man. Someone like Vitali for example, you could never imagine him getting fat or even rounded. He has quite a skinny, lanky build. Whereas Foreman has a bear like build. Often the latter has bigger feet and hands.

PS I don't believe Foreman had 11" fists. Ali had 13" fists so Foreman's gotta be at least that or a little bigger. Liston had massive 15" fists!
no,,,,I meant foremans "wrists" were measured at 11". his fist is obviously much bigger than that. cant remember where I read that. if its true that's crazy big boned. my wrist only measures 7.5" and im 6'3 220lbs

I just read he had 12" wrists in his second career or something.

In his first career (22 years old) he was a 8½" which is still pretty big.

The only way I can see that happening at that age is if he almost overdosed on growth hormone.

Just read this article about Foreman.

Interesting take on him. I agree with a lot of the things.

He obviously grew a lot physically in his off period. Gained 120 lbs and when you work on getting in shape after that kind of weight gain, you'll inevitably become bigger.

I don't know if it was true, but I just read it now.

Another thing to be said about Foreman's insane bone structure is that he is one of the rare punchers who never really had any problems with hand injuries(atleast I don't recall hearing about any). And it would not be surprising if he did because he was quite reckless at times, hitting everything including elbows, arms, top of the head etc. And that drill he did with the heavy bag when his trainer is holding it while he'd caving the bag in with punches is also a big no in the gym, but again it didn't seem to bother his fists.

always amazed me how the heavy bag would be almost totally indented when foreman was through with it and I hear he used the heaviest bag around

Of course I never shook hands with Liston, but I wouldn't believe anyone who said his fists were four inches bigger than Foreman's. It just seems impossible unless you're talking about someone like Andre the Giant.

Well Foreman's fist obviously weren't 11 inches. Ali's were 13. Foreman's were probably also the size of Liston's.

But by all accounts, everyone always said Liston had massive hands.
