It's pretty amazing when you think about it although some were of cource past their prime. Ali fought Patterson, Liston, Frazier, Norton, Foreman and Holmes(8-2). Holyfield fought Foreman, Holmes, Bowe, Tyson, Lewis(5-3-1) and almost made it to a fight with Klitschko at one point. Well actually Bowe and Norton aren't top 10 but you get the point. How many fighters can make the same claim? I'm talking top 10-15 ATG's in one single weight class.

i agree Patterson is not rated Top 15 But i would bet Patterson would beat quite a few rated in the Top 15 and Top 10.. The name of the game is Boxing and Patterson was an `excellent` boxer. Don't be fooled by his two KO losses to prime Liston, the rest of his resume is quality.

He has some decent wins, but nothing I would say equals 'quality'.

Why patterson less than the other two? Is it because of their signature wins against highly ranked ATG's? I think atleast Patterson was more consistent despite being primed in a weaker era than them.

Patterson was more consistant. He was a skillful boxer and had some decent wins in an otherwise weak era for the division. That consisrtancy should count for something. Liston and Ali are not loses that one should be ashamed of.

Yes, plus he was the youngest undisputed hw champ ever and the first to regain the title after losing it I believe. Come on, he was a great, great fighter and deserves it if somebody places him in the top 10.
