Do you think Spinks took a dive? I've heard some people say that he did. Personally, I say no. Look at Spinks after the second knockdown. You can clearly see his eyes were rolled back into his head. I don't think that's something that can easily be faked. I do, however, think that he knew he was ****ed, and didn't get up when he could have.

Was Tyson-Spinks fixed?

Spinks had never been hit that hard before and his limitations became immediately obvious. He had been carefully matched at heavyweight to set up this big payday. And if the fight really was fixed, the heavy betting favorite would have lost. Why would anyone pay Spinks to take a dive that was going to happen anyway?

Oy yeah definitely Tyson fixed Spinks! Or as they useda say in Astoria Queens the home of Steinway Paino.....Tyson tuned Michael up!and down and allll around
but seriously. I don't think you can fake the fear in Michael's eyes. I never saw another fighter that scared, with the exception of a few more of Tyson's opponents.

There's no evidence I've heard of. That said, I haven't looked that hard.
Although I would say that Spinks certainly looked a beaten fighter during his walk to the ring. Like a prisoner shuffling toward his final destination inside the execution chamber.

Fixed by Spinks himself. Maybe if he wasn't out partying when he was suppose to be training he could have hung in there for a few rounds.

Spinks came in off a full year lay off, that didn't help! he spent little time on boxing after getting the gift decisions over Holmes and he took the money against Tyson. Maybe he thought he could get by Tyson early and use his boxing ability to slow Tyson down. By that time his knee was a mess so there was no road work involved. I don't know that you have a chance against Tyson without leg strength.
I do know he was an old 32 going on 40 and was tired of training and boxing.
Some of the greatest Light Heavies have tried to defeat top notch Heavies and they never do.
Ray.
