    Bernard Hopkins vs Floyd Mayweather

Not in a fight but who will go down better in history? Personally if mayweather doesn't fight manny, Id put Bernard miles ahead of Mayweather. Dominated in the middleweight division, oldest champ in history and cared about his legacy by seeking out the hard fights (Jones, Kovalav at 49!) Mayweather Is showing small signs of age and doubt he will come close to doing what Bernard has done in his 40s. Both are loved and hated and very smart, great technical fighters. Mayweather definitely the better skilled and possibly the best fighter who can adapt in a fight and is "undefeated" but who ranks higher?

.....ye im not a mayweather fan

Nailed it. People are going to rank Mayweather higher regardless because of how good he is head to head, but I always say that that is not how you truly rank greats.

      I'd rank Mayweather higher.

Mayweather can do more things in the ring than Hopkins can. He is more versatile.

He didn't beat all 47 opponents by just being versatile though. I personally think that's a weak point to base it on and anyway OP referred to rankings.

Hopkins has the better wins. To me that's the deciding factor just about every time.

Hopkins is greater. His age-defying accomplishments are unmatched. Fought the best challengers continually throughout his career.

If we're talking just resume then do you believe that Hopkins' best wins compare favorably with Floyd's?

Felix Trinidad was probably his #1 victory. Or maybe De La Hoya? But middleweight wasn't really the weight those two guys were best at.

Floyd obviously should rank higher. I would like to see someone bring me a solid argument for why Hopkins should rank higher than Floyd.

In what world does Hopkins have better wins than Mayweather?

                    Certainly not in this world.
