This was talk about if Fenech beats Azumah Nelson in a rematch and will go for a fifth world title against Sweet Pea Whitaker, Fenech is a three-division champion from 118-126 lbs, who almost won his fourth title at 130, but the judges ruled the first Nelson fight a draw, which most experts believe the Aussie pulled it off.

Whitaker will make Fenech looks silly and foolish in the ring, had the fight happen, Sweet Pea was then quoted "Don't expect me to give Fenech the kind of fight Nelson gave him, no way will I stand there and trade punches."

Yes he probably would have pitched a near shut out. Considering the size disparity a late stoppage was plausible.

Fenech would be a nightmare for any featherweight in history. But I don't think he'd beat an ATG lightweight like Whitaker.

Oh, I definitely agree. Fenech was a demon, even more so at 122 I would say. I just thought you gave Fenech a chance based on your previous post, that’s all.

Of course Whitaker wouldn't stand and trade with Fenech. He's not that kind of boxer. Speaking of fights being talked about at that time, how come a Whitaker-Camacho fight didn't happen, even though Sweet Pea said after some of this fights that he wanted to face him?

I don't see any way for fenech to win that fight, and I'm about 90% sure he gets beat by a wide margin.. At best it would be about as competitive as the tito-roy fight

I'd always heard that Whitaker and Camacho were good friends who preferred not to fight each other.
