    Except Hagler and Chuvalo.

Oscar had a damn good chin. Even when he was old he could still take bombs. Oscar is ****ing underrated. The guy was great and was down to fight anyone.

It's more about balance, footwork and whether you see the shot, get hit while off balance or in the middle of an exchange etc. That's not your chin, that's just getting hit at the right time and it's happened to many, many great fighters who have proven great chins. If they don't see it, aren't prepared to take a shot or are off balance and don't have their feet under them, it's not about their chin.

Chuvalo was supposedly dropped by Bonavena, Billy Graham's a guy was never dropped in a fairly extensive career.

Actually, that's a perfect example of it. The Chuv had an epic chin, yet he was dropped and while he got hit with a couple of great shots it was more because he was off balance than anything to do with his chin.

So, there you go. Perfect example. Chuv getting dropped not because of a bad chin, but because of his balance and footwork and getting hit at the wrong time.

Chuvalo was off balance and his glove barely grazed the canvas, but they tripped over eachother's feet I believe. The ref was right there and would have seen it the best, so he made the right call.

He almost got sent through the ropes in the 4th, in the 2nd Bonavena caught him with a right that sent Chuvalo reeling backwards then his glove grazed the canvas but their feet didn't touch at all. Both cases of bad balance more then anything though but still.

Guess who caused Chuvalo his worst pain ever ...

How many times was Oscar dropped due to being off balance though? If most of his knockdowns were of that variety then I would concede your point but that wasn't really the case.

To me a good chin is someone like Hagler or LaMotta or even Ray Mercer. Oscar's beard doesn't really belong in that class in my opinion.

                    His chin was great..

Took shots from from Tito, gatti, Shane, Vargas, mayorga, manny and never went down..

Oscar has a great chin, without question

Look at what manny did in 08-09. He dropped Marquez, destroyed Diaz, put hatton to sleep, totally overwhelmed and dropped n stopped cotto, yet thru everything he had and couldn't miss a weight drained zombie oscar and couldn't even buckle oscar.

Oscar may not be Oliver McCall but he is just a notch below
