        It's a possibility, Hearns' best weight was 154, and Ray didn't always look good at 154. But I would say Ray still stops him late, because of the attributes he had.

          Possibly so. According to Emmanuel Steward, he found out after the fight that Hearns had been running twice a day during the final week leading up to the fight. Steward said Hearns was "under nourished" in the fight. Indeed he came in at 145, a couple pounds under the limit.

          The TV announcers were shocked by the stoppage, but it was clear that Hearns was doing nothing to defend himself. He wasn't even grabbing a hold of Leonard; he was just standing there getting hammered. At that point -- and with well over a minute remaining in the round, not that this went into the decision to stop the fight, but -- the ref had to look out for Hearns' health.

            hearns never fought at 47 again is that correct?
