    5) Joe Calzaghe

^this is your list GTFO, you must be smoking the best chit ever grown.

Ali towers above your list, fighting all the best fighters in a strong era and never ducked anyone.

You need to get Floyd's toooool out of your mouth.

Why dont you understand that a good resume means that you fight great fighters in their prime where you will take a loss here and there, thats what makes a fighter atg material.

According to you Floyd is better then Ali, fanboyism at its finest
Ali lost the biggest fight of his career with Frazier plus he lost to a guy with
only 7 pro fights in Spinks..the guys I mentioned never lost.

Very silly. Fans are supposed to be smart enough to know that fighters count for more than their record. Jones got totally outclassed by Joe Calzihge...that dos not mean that Joe was a better fighter because anyone with a brain knows a prime Jones ****s on any version of Calzighe. This should not have to be explained to anyone truth be told.

I don't think his downfall affects all he did in his career before. He will still be highly rated.

I agree too, with regards to fights guys have when they are past their best and close to being shot but RJJ wouldn't rank any higher on my list (I have him 40-50). RJJ, irregardless of how good he looked in some of his wins and what he did by moving up to HW, he still lacked in any real competition and never managed fights with even one of the 4-5 guys who were thought of as legitimate threats to him at the time.

I think if he'd retired after ruiz people wouldn't have seen any of his weakneses ... his chin would never be brought up etc and a lot of people would say prime jones is unbeatable by anyone EVER at middleweight through to light heavy.

Not that I agree with it, but if we never see Roy in trouble with tarver, then his legacy would be much different to some fanboys
Not sure about the goat, but if he had retired after Ruiz his standing would be higher simply because of all the blemishes on his record.

Probably top 20, which I gather, some respected posters feel about him regardless. A little lower in my estimation though.

I don't agree, but i think you raise a great issue. When Tyson was blowing through the heavyweight division like kleenex in the wind there were a few guys who said that a heavyweight with suitable reach and power would find him, there were even a few guys that predicted Douglas would "trouble" him....no not beat him but give him some problems. some guys knew Tyson was weak that way and going to be found

The pundits often know when a fighter is protecting something. Even the best of the best fighters... if you had asked a few guys about Jones they mght have mentioned Devalle putting him on his can. Jones overall fought decent comp....its just that he fought most of his decent fights when he was really fast so guys like Toney and Hopkins couldn't really catch him.

My point is that people probably knew Jones was relying on not getting hit. Tarver was just the man who did it. And a lot of people will tell you that Jones was slowing down....maybe he was, but what people tend to forget is that very few if any people confronted Jones and went after him the way Tarver did.

Almost all the greats went on to lose to guys that they would have beat in their prime. Robinson, Leonard and even Ali. Doesn't mean much historically.
