more importantly, how the hell can so many of you have thought it was a good decision? some claiming leonard had the upper hand? wtf!?

leonard said himself he lost the fight for the record, not in the post fight interview but in every interview he has done since watching it back. as for hearns not protesting, thats not because he didnt think the decision was terrible but because thats the kind of guy he is. he understood there was nothing to do about it so he accepted it, more importantly he knew in his heart he won which was most important to him (his words).

but again, how the hell can you people have thought that wasnt an outrageous robbery? ****ing hell people around here cant score for ****.
Ok, thanks for clearing that up, I was mistaken about the timing of the Barkley fight..

In regards to the scoring of the fight, I don't think it was a robbery, it was just a really close fight.. I don't think Leonard did enough to win, but a draw isn't out of the question..

what was your round by round scoring? I found hearns a one point winner.....but definitely a close fight. If anyone scored the fight by more than two rounds to hearns......I d argue an unfair bias.

        100x

I watched and scored that fight 100x....It was absolutely a draw 100%.
Everyone says Ray lost and Hearns won...not true....Knockdowns cause
our minds to rush to judgement but Ray won other rounds comfortably.
The fight has to be watched more than once to see.

            Scoring
            Kazmereck 113-112 leonard
            Roth 113-112 hearns
            Shirley 112-112

According to the wiki page on this fight, Leonard wanted a 3rd fight and had his lawyer mike trainer try and set one up, but hearns said he couldn't make weight anymore and was heading back to light heavy

Yeah and then Hearns has been asking for a rematch since. Guess if Hearns really wanted to, they could've fought at a higher weight.

Dare I say the first knockdown was a little contentious. No doubt that Leonard was stung from an earlier right hand (they both landed simultaneously) but then Leonard backed up and Hearn's follow up sailed over his head. I've watched the replay a fair few times......many refs would rule that one a slip.

No such issue with the second knockdown. It was frightening! Amazing that Leonard got up!!! Many wouldn't.....

the fight was a draw, simple as that really.

I can see it being a close, 1 or 2 point win for Hearns due to the KDs and how you saw some of the middle rounds but SRL came back strong, landed some good shots of his own and we shouldn't forget that he hurt Hearns a few times too.

It wasn't as much fun as the original but it was an interesting fight, two guys well past their best trying to rekindle some of the greatness of the past. It made for a good rematch, just sad that certain losses made the 3rd fight redundant.
