Why don't they belong? What criteria should be used then?

Because they didn't fight in the US.....


These statistics are fairly misleading anyway because of the different understandings of what a world title fight is, not to mention the conventions surrounding how often the title was on the line, at different points in time.

How many world title fights did Sam Langford have? 0 or 23 or a number inbetween? And how many of them did he win?

I consider Louis and Chavez as having accomplished the most with Joe having fought excellent opposition even before winning the title. Chavez fought excellent opposition as well although he was handed a gift against sweet pea

Considering the amount of titles we have this list doesn't really mean much.
