Didn't the Gatti Ward trilogy have a few injuries that had to be overcome? I don't remember the specifics but I seem to remember there were those type obstacles.

Ali going 10 with Norton with a severely broken jaw! You could see his cheek getting larger and larger and he threatened everyone who suggested stopping the fight. He had an automatic rematch clause but he deferred to go on. Ray.
