    It drops off a lot.

When I joined this site I only posted in this section elusively. There were loads of great posters.

I only started posting in NSB when this section starting getting slow.
Fitzsimmons at 5? We are talking about Bob Fitzsimmons yes?

    Burley and Lamotta above Hopkins?

    How so?

However, you have summed up Tigers career perfectly, I didn't know too much about him growing up as he was a tad before my time but having worked professionally in this sport for so long, it's wonderful to hear so many former boxers, journalists and so on speak highly of him. He must have been a terrific fighter.

He's tricky naturally because he fought before even the 1900's. Reminds me abit of Joe Gans in that regard.

Beat a lot of contenders, obviously his best win being Nonpareli Jack Dempsey.

It's difficult isn't it, he fought as basically a MW for a whole lot of his fights even at HW.

Did you see my post regarding Greb's resume being better than Monzon's?

Of course overall it's clear as day, but in the MW division as well.

Yeah I could see that, 100%.

I could see Greb being #1.

I have Monzon #1 but I could easily see Robinson, Greb or Hagler being #1.

              Such a stacked division.

**** Tiger was a great swarmer when he got his opponents on the ropes. Perhaps his weakness was that he could be a bit ponderous at times with his feet. It wasn't that he was actually slow on his feet but he stalked his opponents in a very flat footed fashion. I think that was the main reason he lost the odd fight in his prime years. Giardello was a crafty bastard and Griffith and Archer moved quite a bit. Also if he had had a bit more power he would have been a lot more devastating.

                  Agree with this.

Could see those although they aren't glaring.

Also agree with assessment of Giardello. Such a great display of skills from both men in those fights.

Also, bare in mind that they guys you mentioned who did beat him, Griffith, Archer and Giardello, all of those were close aswell.
