Sorry old bud, but it threw me, Lockeridge as a cruiser has to be one of the strangest things I've read in a long time

Thought you were playing the fool... Please tell me it's all in the name of humour lol

My views have been shaped mainly by one fighter, a stolid one at that and man can he talk some ****. Ofcourse I am speaking of the great Charles Zelenoff.

As far as actual fights, I've never even seen a live boxing show let alone competing or officiating in one. I would like to see a ring in person though, I think rings look cool.............. Rockin'

I know this of course. But they called it cruiser weight anyway, as the limit was 200 pounds. They didn't have the super heavy term in use for the tournaments.

My dad was a lightweight amateur in Liverpool when he grew up, with a record of 13-1 and bowed out when he lost his first fight by stoppage. He taught me everything there was about boxing and made sure I knew all about Jem Mace, Ike Bradley, Nel Tarleton, Gus Foran, **** Tiger and of course John Conteh - and all the greats fighting out of Merseyside.

He was also a longtime Muhammad Ali fan and would tell me nobody could ever be as great as he was - an opinion I share to this day for various reasons. My interests of the old timers took me to contemporary boxing where Prince Naz, Nigel Benn, Mike Tyson, Roy Jones jr and the greats of the 90s were my fighters.

I pretty much had one favourite in each weightclass that I would root for against anyone, but Prince Naz and Roy Jones were my ultimate favourites.

I started boxing boxing from the age of 13 and finished when I was around 22 with a record of 22-10. I started out as a middleweight when I turned senior, but moved to light heavy in my 3rd year. I was never really that good, and lost everytime I met someone slightly decent.

But I was never stopped! And I take pride in that. Haha. Not really.

No doubt, they then renamed it, Loserweight, especially for you

My father grew up with Kenny Leonard so I was introduced at a very young age. Best fight parties I'd ever been to, but that was the 80's.
