Thomas Hearns vs Oscar de la Hoya

Thomas Hearns vs Oscar de la Hoya at welterweight and why. Both fighters are in their prime fighting in the 147 lb division for 12 rounds no three knockdown rule.

I really can't decide myself who would win. I'd say realistically Oscar would get tired in the later rounds and likely lose to a UD. I would like to think Hearns would knock him out but I feel like Oscar has a very underrated chin. I do see Oscar walking into that right hand a lot so I just can't make up my mind.

I can't imagine any scenario where DLH wins. Hearns was a superior fighter.

I consider Thomas Hearns the best welterweight of all time.

I too think Oscar would get tired. But Hearns would then pounce on him and knock him out.

Really? It's quite an easy pick actually.
Hearns wins and it wouldn't be close

Hearns by a wide 12 round decision in an entertaining, competitive at times fight.

It might look a bit like the early rounds of Hearns vs Ray Leonard 1 at times....though De La Hoya wouldn't be quite as effective as Ray.

I wonder if Oscar would be able to take Hearns punches the early rounds.

Delahoya was basically a one handed fighter. I don't see him being anywhere near as effective as Leonard.
