  • Is Cecilia Braekhus really the greatest female boxer of all time?

While reading one of the articles from the main page today I noticed a Norwegian boxer making that claim about her.

Don't really follow women's boxing that much. Is she that good? How does she compare to someone like Lucia Rijker or Anne Wolfe?

Hard to tell. Can anyone really claim to be the best of all time with only 23 pro fights, even if she has won them all? Mia St. John is the only name I recognize on her resume.

I'd say Rijker and Ali are better, probably Anne Wolfe as well. Only ones I've watched extensively and liked were Ali, Martin, St. John, Rijker, Holm, Racokzy, at some point plan to check out Braekhus fights and a couple others I have listed.

Braekhus might not be the greatest, but she arguably the finest.

I dont really follow female boxing, but I have followed Brækhus. She has fought and beaten everyone except Holly Holm whom she cannot get to fight her. She has beaten Mathis who brutally KO'ed Holm though.

She is pretty much out of valid competition as it is now. Whether that's enough to be the best ever, I really cannot say, but given the short history of female boxing, I doubt that anyone can match her resume.

Then that's another name for my wish list. I'll see if I can find a career set on her somewhere online.

Oh yeah and a fight with Holly Holm probably won't happen, since I read recently that Holm retired from boxing and now competes in MMA. She's considered a pretty good prospect so fat at 6-0 with 5 KOs.
